Should Every Company must have their own NGO?

Our Society requires help from everyone who lives in the society. Mutual understanding, mutual help can make a great society to live in. I think that every company can afford a NGO (no matter whether it is big or small). Companies effort can really help the needy.

TMS survey 2009 gave us an shocking news, NGO's in india is the thrid most corrupted,,,, why cant we do things for the society,, which we can do daily ,,,,, it doesn't require to form an NGO,,, we mustbe an socially responsible citizen,,,, i suggest CSR should come as a high time for the big MNCs,, Corporate social responsibilty by tata's is worth noticed,,, but a small companies cant mange NGO,, which is not feasible in reality,, sustaining the oprations of an NGo is an big deal,,,

Agreed. NGO doesn't need to be full fledged all the time. Supporting particular family of a colony will also do. Also NGO also can do some work like teaching curricular subjects like maths or science or computer in some school which is less financed. And I don't think managing this much is too much for a small company also. 3 hours on every Saturday will be sufficient for this cause. An NGO need not be full fledged in every operation and it doesn't need to be at macro level.. even micro level will also help. The basic motive behind this being you want to help atleast some people during the course.

Unless the company is big enough it is really tough to focus on NGO initiatives. On the contrary, I would suggest that companies should get associated with some NGOs and help in their bottom line. Companies should focus what they do best - making money.

companies can hire one or two people look into this matter. I think in villages they will get employees at less cost. I think people in the office can help out in this. If they spend half hour with the children they can educate them.

There is no point in doing things unless you can do it the right way ... It is not just about starting an NGO - it is also about identifying an issue first and taking it forward. And running an NGO is full time job... the amount that will be spent in hiring 2 right people to run that NGO can actually help another NGO to run full operation for a few months... More importantly, hiring and sustaining the right people is a tough job itself - since it is tough to give them the right ambiance to continue.

Unless and until Companies start themselves how can they know the hurdles? atleast you must try and step a foot forward.
