Shall we support fasting-protest against corruption?

After Anna Hazare now its Ram Dev Baba's turn. Fasting seems to have become a fashion amongst many who wants to grab some media footage by raising their voice for the cause of "good". Ramdev Baba's "corporate fasting" from 7 am to 9pm, which he calls "fasting until death", have raved debates throughout the nation. His 5 star public gatherings are funded by whom, is a common question asked my all media channels now. A man who himself travels in a chartered plane is said to have raised his voice against the black money. But how does it matter really? As long as the cause is good for the mass people should not be bothered about who is raising it. We support a cause, not a person. Isnt it? Kiran Bedi has been quoted earlier on the same as saying, "a cause is more important". But to make the the cause reach to the mass is "fasting" the latest trend? What would happen if Kasab or Afzal Guru go on fast against black money? What would happen if all the black money is returned to India? Shall the poor get richer?

(I picked up this topic and the points from a serious debate in Twitter between Samiran and Agnivo)

money given to swamis as "dakshina" is not black, so no questions can be raised against a 5 star protest by the Baba

if organization is communal, let the court decide. who ever is fighting for corruption is showing the way

If black is returned to India technically because of inflation & soft economy the country will be in more difficult state.

AC stage, more than 1000 fans, own chartered plane, accepting "donations" of minimum Rs 5000, cheques for min Rs 1 lakh......Ramdev is not the right person to lead a fight against corruption!

People against Anna Hazare say that the way which he chose was completely illegal..I completely disagree because we, the citizens of India have got the right to protest against everything which is wrong or any person who is corrupt afterall it's our money and our rights. If they say that India is a domocratic republic then we should have the right to include a law or change a law which is not appropriate for indian citizens..

No we wont support the fasting system, rather we must give the taste of death to the corrupt people. We have no room to relax, to offer the bloody justifications that all the bengalis do. Lets move to hanf them..this is our country, our money and our people. Corrupt people have no right to keep the poeple unfeed.

I am no expert but I think Fasting is a very useful tool for getting your demands fulfilled , Gandhiji used fasting as a political tool to pressurize the British, Moreover he even fasted against the victory of Netaji http://goo.gl/zMv2P, the second case was quite a trivial one but nevertheless he succeeded , in the present year we already had 1 fast by Anna Hazare which was a media success and a political failure , but after Ramdev put his hat into the ring the ruling party is feeling jittery as he possesses a substantial support group, The media has been in overdrive catching on to loose statements made by Ramdev and his followers , abolition of English 500/1000 rupee notes are laughable but not the demand for Black money to be brought back, like him or not we must support at least this Demand of bringing Black money back , Ramdev may be no Mahatma but he may be the CATALYST for other honest and dutiful citizens to put their hat into the ring and try to curb the massive corruption in India. As for communal elements Let the people decide , Media is not a court, let it not act as a court.
