IS THIS REALLY THE CHANGE THAT BENGAL NEEDED???
IS THIS A VICTORY FOR "MAA MATI MANUSH" OR IS IT A REJECTION THE LEFT
1-A new government eager to prove itself after coming to power
2-With the opposition being reduced to a minority, the new government can pass new schemes without the fear of it being blocked
3- Can cement itself into the collective psyche of Bengal by performing credibly.

1-Mamata is too moody a leader
2- DEEP POLITICISATION of the Bureaucracy by the left front government for the past 35 years
3- Distrust among the middle and upper middle classes of Bengal about the TMC regarding its minority vote pandering and \"bandh-style\" politics

None whatsoever. There is too much populist politics going on in the state- at some point, you must start taking rational decisions and not get carried away by public opinion.

I feel its the REJECTION OF THE LEFT,,,, to stary in agovernment for 34 yrs,, is not only by shallow governence or rigging,, but they off late in the last 2 yrs,, the party base has been damaged by the problems and the deaths of the major leaderss, and their efficiency decreased,, so did TMC came.....,, to survive TMC need to keep up their promise.

We can hope that West Bengal will progress. The new government must be aware of what people of Bengal wants from them.

Nice that 17 years of all the "hard" works (including hunger strikes and all) have finally paid off. And we all wanted a change... we got it. We all want a better tomorrow.. and hope TMC will not let us down. But frankly speaking... I have a serious doubt! I can't trust Mamata. Who will be our CM? If its Mamata herself then she's going to make a serious mistake. Its a huge responsibility I guess to be a Railway Minister of whole India (after all we are first Indians). She cannot repeat her past again. Or is this simply because she can neither speak English (being an LLB) nor Hindi (our national language) to mark her presence in the Lok Shaba? Well I don't know... but this could be a reason behind her poor attendance in the Parliament! and if someone else from TMC becomes our CM... then who will you want? a singer? a poet? a tollywood filmstar? or a Gangster? I'm super confused :)

People of west bengal can no longer be fooled with words and freebies and money. People are despeate for development and if TMC cannot deliver, it will be doomed. TMC's track record at KMC and panchayats is good so far. And we can all rest assured Mamata wont let this opportunity go waste. Let us have hope.

Weapons found everywhere from CPIM leader's house. West Mednapore, Hoogly, bankura and others... Already showed progress. From 14th police arrested 9 CPIM zonal leaders and their supporter for illegal weapons collection. We knew before that they have many more. But from now just see how many weapons will find from their house.

From block to sub-division, panchait, municipality and now state - TMC is the majority everywhere. Moreover, they have the support from Central - working SHOULD NOT be difficult for them! However, as you said - New govt. can pass new schemes without any fear of it being blocked - this can be dangerous. Anyways, it is not the right time to vote for Yes or No now. Let's wait and see.

This is a general comment - anybody who knows that there is no one to answer and no one to stop, can commit mistakes.

"Moreover, they have the support from Central - working SHOULD NOT be difficult for them!" sounded a little strange since at one point of time Left was allied with Congress in the Centre... going by your logic, they had the opportunity to work...but probably they didnt

Big difference: kind of alliance Left parties had with UPA govt. is way too different from the alliance between INC and AITMC. Even a child can understand the difference.

yess u r right... it was more a farce than alliance... left supported UPA at the center and opposed them at the state level...even a child knew it

There was the Polit Bureau in between...you must be aware of the entire incident...it was not in state govt's hand....anyways, there is no point in driving the debate in another direction....i said AITMC should not be any problem running the state as they will get support from all spheres of the society and that is TRUE!

I have no issues with Ms. Banerjee rather, I am happy to have a dedicated and determined CM like her, ruling our state... What disgusts me is the rest of the composition of Trinamul Congress... Other than Ms. Banerjee and a handful of ministers, most of the party is made up of people who are incompetent... Will Ms. Banerjee be able to run the government alone? Most of the TMC candidates have won not because they are worthy but, because they are led by a leader who is liked by the people. They have won not because they deserve it but, because people want the Left to loose... It is a democracy and the people have spoken, I do not have the right to complain. But, I would like to raise my question again, will Ms. Banerjee be able to run the government alone?
